Mike Perry shares one-word reaction to Kamaru Usman being open to any opponent in the welterweight division feeling like "the hot chick at the bar"
In a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast hosted by former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and former two-division UFC champ Henry Cejudo, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' announced that he's ready to fight anyone in his division, regardless of ranking.
This came with the assumption that everyone in the 170-pound weight class is after him - from the top five to the champion himself. This level of confidence and self-belief has been synonymous with Usman, who's been at the top of his division for years.
Usman said:
"I feel like the hot chick at the bar, everybody wants a piece...I don't care who it is. Shavkat [Rakhmonov], Belal [Muhammad], Ian [Machado Garry], [Joaquin] Buckley, Jack Della Maddalena, I don't care who it is."
Former UFC welterweight and current BKFC King of Violence champion Mike Perry hilariously commented on the post with the perfect line he'd say to a hot chick at a bar:
"Ayo"
Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo name their Fighter of the Year and other "Best of the Year" awardees
Since we're reaching the end of 2024, MMA publications and media outlets have been releasing their Best of the Year awards - including hosts Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo of the Pound 4 Pound podcast.
The two former UFC champions named their Knockout of the Year, Submission of the Year, Boxer of the Year, 2024 Rising Star, Upset of the Year, and Fight of the Year. They also had some quirky awards, such as the Craziest, Weirdest, Cringiest Combat Sports Moment of the Year, Biggest Beef, and Hater of the Year.
Although the two had some contested picks in the different categories, it was unanimous regarding the pound-for-pound Fighter of the Year.
Cejudo said:
"To me it's simple, man. One, this dude was able to take out two people. It was between two people: Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria but I gotta go with Ilia Topuria because it was quality versus quantity. Even though I will say man Alex is a soldier, he went up, he took fights, he saved the UFC. I get the whole nine. But when it comes on competition on who you beat and how you did it and the fact that they didn't cross through the championship rounds, I got to go with Ilia Topuria."
