Mike Perry shuts down BKFC fighter with five-word response after the latter calls him undeserving of a fight against retired ex-UFC champ

Mike Perry made headlines over the weekend for his callout at the final BKFC event of the year with a bare-knuckle champion within the promotion bantering with 'Platinum' in the fallout.

Perry was in attendance at BKFC on DAZN 3 and took to the ring to address former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, whom he wanted a throwdown against in gloveless combat.

The idea of Perry vs. Lawler in a bare-knuckle boxing bout kicked off much online discourse as we head into the holidays.

One individual who offered his thoughts on this situation is the reigning BKFC middleweight champion, Dave Mundell. In a graphic posted to the MMA Fighting Instagram account of the Perry callout to Lawler, Dave 'Redneck' Mundell commented:

"Stop it.... Mike don't deserve that fight a nobody wants to see it... Mikes too big of a [cat emoji] to take this whoopin like a man I'll take Robbie an remind him why he don't fight anymore."

Offering up a retort to the fired-up words of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship titleholder, Perry quipped:

Mike Perry and Dave Mundell's history with each other

Mike Perry and Dave Mundell have engaged in trash talk with one another far before this latest social media dust-up. The two men fought against one another, albeit years ago and in an entirely different combat sport.

The 33-year-old first encountered the prolific BKFC champion over a decade ago when the two were amateur mixed martial artists looking to hone their skills. The first Perry versus Mundell clash transpired on Oct. 12, 2013, under the World Class Fight League banner.

During this amateur MMA bout, Perry stopped Mundell with a punch close to the halfway mark of the second round, and 'Platinum' would turn pro in the sport after that. The Michigan native would have a sequel clash with Dave Mundell once again under MMA rules. In this rematch, the two men were undefeated pro MMA fighters and they threw down on May 14, 2016.

Under the Battleground banner, Perry would again stop Mundell with a punch in the second stanza albeit a bit later in the round. This victory punched his ticket to the UFC, and Perry had his debut at UFC 202: Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor II later that year in August.
