Mike Tyson discusses "the sickness" in him ahead of Jake Paul fight, details regular training regimen: "People f**k with me"

Jake Paul is in for a real fight when he faces Mike Tyson on Nov. 15. 'Iron Mike' is taking the bout extremely seriously and has been working hard in the gym in preparation. Due to the age difference between the two, the fight has garnered significant attention and controversy.

In an appearance on the Pound 4 Pound podcast with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, the former heavyweight champion likened his tendency to disregard recovery periods and over-train to "a sickness":

"Normally after you workout, it takes really two days for the body to recover. I'm the kind of guy, when I'm on my recovery time, I don't know, I might do 6000 reps on the rower. It's just a sickness in me. It's just the sickness."

Discussing his daily training regimen in the lead-up to the Paul fight, Tyson revealed that his drills were cardio-heavy, adding:

"I get up in the morning, I do the road work, four miles on the treadmill. Four-five miles, I can't do it outside, people f**k with me. Right, so I do the treadmill. After that, I do the rower for like, I might do 3000 rows, then comeback, and do another 3000, and the next morning, do another 3000. That's 7000 rows within a day and a half."
