Mike Tyson explains why he's not a fan of Terence Crawford calling out Canelo Alvarez: "I don’t like that fight"
Terence Crawford's potential fight with Canelo Alvarez has piqued the interest of many, including Mike Tyson, who recently revealed his thoughts on the hypothetical showdown. While many boxing fans are enthusiastic for this fight, Tyson is not a fan of Crawford moving up in weight to face Alvarez.
Crawford has made it known that he would like to face Alvarez in a superfight during the past year. Despite Saudi Arabia's Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh's attempt to arrange the matchup, the Mexican superstar refused to work with him since he preferred to conduct business in his own way.
Prior to his title fight with Edgar Berlanga, Alvarez claimed that he would easily defeat Crawford. The comment infuriated 'Bud,' who criticized the 34-year-old for declining Alalshikh's offer and treating him like a useless opponent.
Notably, Crawford marked his presence at Noche UFC 306 and was sitting next to Alalshikh, who subsequently intensified his demand for a possible matchup with Alvarez during his Instagram live.
During a recent appearance on the It Is What It Is podcast, Tyson expressed his thoughts on the potential Alvarez vs. Crawford matchup. The boxing legend asserted that moving up the weight to face Alvarez may not be a wise idea for Crawford.
''Y’know…I don’t like that fight. Too much weight (for Crawford). He had a close fight with the last guy he fought (Madrimov) because he was big and really awkward. He shouldn’t have even fought that guy."

As for Tyson, he was set to face celebrity YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a boxing contest on July 20th. However, an ulcer flare-up while traveling forced the 58-year-old to withdraw himself from the bout. This led BKFC star Mike Perry to step in and face Paul, only to lose by TKO in the sixth round.
Tyson's fight versus Paul has been rescheduled for Nov. 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Dana White is skeptical about the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight
Dana White, who is close friends with Mike Tyson, has previously expressed his concern about latter's boxing match against Jake Paul, citing the age difference between the two.
White was questioned last week about his prediction for the Tyson vs. Paul fight during a Q&A session with the media in Dublin. The UFC CEO responded by expressing his uncertainty regarding the bout, saying:
''I’m hoping what you’re all hoping...I don’t know, that remains to be seen.”
