Mike Tyson vows to finish Jake Paul's boxing career after giving the Disney star his start on the undercard for the Roy Jones Jr. fight
Jake Paul has come a long way from fighting on the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. event in November 2020. Paul took on Nate Robinson and won the fight by knockout in the second round.
Since that fight, Paul has established a formidable recognition in professional boxing, compiling a solid 10-1 record. He holds notable victories against prominent MMA stars like Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley.
For his next assignment, the former Disney star will take on Tyson on Nov. 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The combat sports community has shown hesitation in embracing the matchup owing to Tyson's age and health issues. Meanwhile, 58-year-old Tyson has asserted that he's taking the contest seriously and wants to finish Paul's boxing career.
Speaking about the fight during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Tyson said:
“Well, I’m 60 years old. He’s 27. So, I don’t know. I started Jake Paul off. On my fight with Roy Jones, I allowed him to fight on the card, and I decided I started him. And I’m gonna finish him.” [H/t: bjpenn.com]

Tyson was originally scheduled to take on Paul on July. 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas. However, Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up while flying from Miami to Los Angeles, which forced him out of the fight. Mike Perry stepped in as a short-notice replacement and lost the fight against Paul by knockout in the sixth round.
