Careful preparation and flawless execution have been the keys to success in the career of ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci. And the Brazilian jiu-jitsu savant vows to pack those exact traits as he heads into his super fight next month.
In a video posted by the Treigning Lab on YouTube, 'Darth Rigatoni' outlined his path to dethroning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.
The Evolve MMA product said:
"My next opponent is way more technical from a technical standpoint. So I just need to be physically healthy and strong. If we perfect this, we win."

Musumeci is widely viewed as one of his generation's greatest BJJ competitors, and his legend has only continued to grow since joining ONE Championship in 2022.
Undefeated through seven bouts under the ONE banner, 28-year-old 'Darth Rigatoni' is now on the cusp of joining an exclusive group of ONE athletes to become a two-division world champion and the first to ever do it in the discipline.
However, Ruotolo's hyper-athletic, wrestling-based BJJ style will be a formidable obstacle for Musumeci to overcome in his quest to become a two-division ONE world champion.

Mikey Musumeci has tapped BJJ legend Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles and his son, Kennedy Maciel, to help him prepare in his bid to win the ONE lightweight submission grappling world championship at ONE 168 on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Musumeci talked about the work they have put in so far, saying:
"On Thursdays and Fridays, Kennedy and I go to war. We freaking kill each other. We do three hours of training, just me and him, and 'Cobrinha' supervising. But it's basically 10-minute rounds of us trying to kill each other, figuring new things out."
