MLB stars spotted enjoying Magomed Ankalaev and Paddy Pimblett headliners at UFC 282
Several MLB (Major League Baseball) players, including Carlos Correa, were in attendance at the recently concluded final UFC pay-per-view event for the 2022 calendar year. Correa recently exercised his opt-out clause with the Minnesota Twins and became a free agent.
Despite the fact that the main and co-main events of UFC 281 were marred by controversial decisions, the event still delivered some edge-of-the-seat action.
Rising UFC prospect Paddy Pimblett defeated Jared Gordon via a highly contentious unanimous decision. In the main event of the night, Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev had to settle for a draw, despite widespread agreement that the Russian should have had his hands raised.
Amongst the celebrities in attendance were star-studded MLB superstars Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, and Lance McCullers Jr.
Baseball player Alexander David Bregman plays third base and is a shortstop for the Houston Astros in the MLB. In 2010, while still a sophomore at Albuquerque Academy, Bregman made history by becoming the first high school player to win USA Baseball's Player of the Year Award.
Free agent Carlos Corea signed a three-year contract of $105.3 million with the Twins prior to the 2022 season.
Fans react to watching their favorite MLB stars in attendance at UFC 282
Several MLB (Major League Baseball) players were among the celebrities in the star-studded crowd for UFC 282. Right fielder for the Houston Astros, Kyle Tucker, posted an image of the players in attendance, which also featured UFC bantamweight star Sean O'Malley.
In an image posted by Houston Astros writer Michael Schwab, several fans started speculating on the next move of the sought-after free agent Carlos Correa. One user read into Correa's look to surmise that the Puerto Rican may sign with the New York Yankees:
"Correa is clean shaven except for his 'stache. He gonna be a Yankee"
Another fan speculated that Correa might not return to the Houston Astros, where Lance McCullers Jr. and Alex Bregman currently play:
"The three of them are bestfriends, no way Correa is coming back. Heβs probably going to LA or Minnesota."
Elsewhere, other fans wrote that perhaps the two baseball stars were convincing Correa not to join the New York Yankees:
"Breggy and lance convincing him not to go to nyy at all costs I hope!"
