MMA Community rains down on Colby Covington for death threat to Jon Anik involving his kids
Controversy has erupted within the MMA community after UFC fighter Colby Covington made a death threat against commentator Jon Anik following comments he made about Covington's recent actions.
Covington has publicly called out Belal Muhammad over comments he made regarding Covington being named as the backup fighter for UFC 286. Muhammad claimed that the only reason Covington was selected was because he is "white", a tweet he later deleted.
In response, Jon Anik came to Muhammad's defense, highlighting his impressive unbeaten streak and recent victories. This prompted Covington to issue a disturbing threat to Anik, reminding him that they lived in the same state and suggesting that harm may come to his children.
"Jon Anik, I don't want your kids to grow up without a dad. Just realize you live in Boca, I live in Miami m*********er, you're not too far from me so you better shut your f***ing mouth, you poked the bear, now you get the best it comes after you."
The MMA community has been quick to respond to the situation, with many condemning Covington's actions. Belal Muhammad himself tweeted a warning to Covington:
"The reason why masvidal broke his face ..it’s bout to happen again"

Colby Covington threatened that Leon Edwards will be stripped of his title if he refuses to fight 'Chaos'
Speaking to MMAFighting, Colby Covington stated that the welterweight champion has no choice in the matter and will face consequences if he turns down the challenge.
"He gets stripped, he gets stripped of the title. He will get stripped. He's not the draw in this division, Mike, I'm the draw. Look at the numbers over the weekend, I didn't even fight and my numbers towered over the main event."
Covington went on to criticize Edwards, stating that the welterweight king lacks charisma and does not bring as much entertainment value as he does. He also compared him to former two-division champion Conor McGregor, stating that Edwards does not have the same star power and cannot call the shots.
"You're not Conor McGregor, bro. You don't get to call the shots, dude, like, you're a nobody."
The comments have sparked controversy within the MMA community, with many questioning the validity of Colby Covington's claims and his aggressive approach towards Edwards. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold, but it is clear that tensions are running high within the welterweight division.
