MMA insider reveals Jake Paul links to potential Conor McGregor vs. Logan Paul fight seemingly arranged by $94.4 billion-worth Indian tycoon

The fight world has been abuzz ever since Conor McGregor revealed that he was in preliminary talks with Indian business tycoons, the Ambanis, about facing Logan Paul in a boxing match. However, an MMA insider has now shed light on Jake Paul's interesting connection to the rumored matchup.

During a recent episode of the Ariel Helwani Show, the veteran journalist revealed that the WWE superstar was far from the Ambanis' first choice as an opponent for 'The Notorious'. Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani reportedly wanted 'The Problem Child' to face the UFC star. Helwani said:

"My understanding is the first choice is, 'We want Jake Paul. We want to be in the Jake Paul business, we want Jake Paul fight here in India.' And so then the top choice was Jake Paul versus Conor McGregor. That was the pie-in-the-sky idea."

Helwani added that 'The Problem Child's' boxing accomplishments have eclipsed his brother's. He added:

"This is not me trying to take a shot at Logan or anyone else... Jake has become more of a boxer as of late as opposed to Logan who last fought against Dillon Danis. [I] spoke to Logan and there is validity to that."

'The Maverick' holds a boxing record of 1-1-2 from his professional and exhibition outings. While he fought to a draw against Floyd Mayweather in 2021, his decision win against Dillon Danis last year was heavily criticized for a lack of activity.

Jake, meanwhile, boasts a pro boxing record of 11-1, with wins over numerous former UFC stars, including Anderson Silva, Mike Perry, Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz. He recently also secured a unanimous decision win against Mike Tyson.

UFC veteran picks Logan Paul to beat Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor last fought in 2021, meaning he has been inactive for over three years. The Irishman has also faced massive legal setbacks in recent times, leaving 'The Notorious' far from a high point in life.

Former UFC fighter Josh Thomson is convinced all of these factors will work against McGregor in a potential fight against Paul. Giving his verdict on the matchup during a recent episode of the Weighing In podcast, Thomson said:

"I would lean towards Logan only because of the inactivity and all other s**t going on with Conor outside the cage... I would lean towards Logan, but it's not as if Logan is a better boxer than him. I don't know what dedication you are going to get out of a guy that's worth $400 million."
