Movsar Evloev blames Aljamain Sterling for UFC 310 prelims spot, responds to the former bantamweight champion's PED accusations
Movsar Evloev recently blamed his opponent Aljamain Sterling for their prelims placement at UFC 310 this Saturday and also clapped back at his PED accusations. He denied the accusations and blasted 'Funk Master' due to the fighters being subject to the promotion's anti-doping tests.
There is a lot at stake for the winner of the featherweight clash between the Russian and former bantamweight champion as it could insert their name in the title picture along with Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopez. Evloev boasts an unbeaten 18-0 MMA record, while Sterling recently celebrated a successful move to 145 pounds with his unanimous decision win over Calvin Kattar at UFC 300.
During his pre-fight media availability ahead of UFC 310, the 30-year-old sounded off on 'Funk Master' for making serious accusations that could tarnish his reputation. Evloev mentioned that he has been tested several times by the promotion's anti-doping and then blamed Sterling for their bout being demoted to the prelims:
"How you can say that someone uses steroids if he don't know?...I have USADA or doping control and just tell them if you know something...I think we are on [the] prelims because of him. But, I don't care, like, save money. Nobody care. Maybe [it's] even better to stay on prelim for this card because more people will watch our fight...and find out who is the next contender for the [featherweight] belt."
