Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling booked for UFC 307 in October
Aljamain Sterling and Movsar Evloev will finally get to settle their differences in the cage. After spending the last couple of months exchanging shots on social media, the two featherweights have been confirmed to clash at UFC 307 on Oct. 5.
The fight will be Sterling's second in the featherweight division after beating Calvin Kattar in his 145-pound debut at UFC 300. Evloev last fought at UFC 297, topping Arnold Allen by decision for his 18th win in as many fights.
Both Sterling and Evloev confirmed the matchup on their respective social media pages while exuding confidence in the rivalry they have built on X. Evloev has previously claimed that the former UFC bantamweight champion has rejected matchups with him though Sterling has denied the rumors, repeatedly stating that he would not be available any sooner than September.
As they both pursue their first featherweight title fight, each will get their wish by facing each other at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City.
Aljamain Sterling reacts to his matchup with Movsar Evloev
Movsar Evloev and Aljamain Sterling have been circling each other since the latter's dominant win at UFC 300 and will finally meet each other in the cage on Oct. 5. With the two featherweights taking turns picking at each other on social media, both men reacted to their official matchup on X.
While promoting his new Funk Harbor Jamaican rum brand, Sterling posted photos of himself signing the contract while claiming that he will "take that man's 0" in the caption.
Should he get his hand raised in his second 145-pound appearance, Sterling would find himself in the division's top-five and in prime position to be the next title challenger. UFC 307 is expected to be headlined by the featherweight title fight between champion Ilia Topuria and BMF belt holder Max Holloway.
