Muay Thai icon Seksan proud to make his new gym a breeding ground for up-and-coming talents

Before signing to ONE Championship where an incredible winning streak extended his career, Seksan was ready to hang up the gloves. He has already achieved so much in his career and he's been able to lay down foundations for the future at the same time.

The Thai veteran has already found a source of motivation away from competing which is sure to keep him busy and focused once he does walk away.

Opening their own gym is a clear goal and career path for any top-level fighter and Seksan is proud to have joined the ranks of elite competitors that are now looking to pay it forward.

Ahead of what could be his last dance, he spoke in a recent interview with ONE Championship about how he hopes to bring through future generations of strikers by using his gym as a proving ground:

"If the kids in the gym are really talented, I intend to send them to compete in Bangkok and join my boss' gym, Sor Sommai Gym, so they can compete at Rajadamnern Stadium."

Seksan is tying up loose ends before hanging them up

Having his gym there for when he retires is a perfect exit strategy for Seksan at this stage in his career.

The 35-year-old has been prepared for one final fight for some time now but at ONE 168, the perfect curtain call has arrived. He will be competing in the United States on Sept. 6 against a fellow legend of the game, Liam Harrison.

The two men have got legendary careers and fighting styles meaning that their first meeting could be the perfect way for both men to call time on their incredible runs.

We will find out for certain at the Ball Arena in what promises to be an iconic moment for the sport of Muay Thai.
