Muhammad Mokaev reacts to having a bigger following on Instagram than the PFL
Muhammad Mokaev's issues with major MMA promotions continue, as he recently took to X/Twitter to retweet and react to a tweet revealing that he has 800,000 more followers on Instagram than the PFL. The top-level flyweight has just parted ways with the UFC.
His departure follows a widely-panned unanimous decision win over Manel Kape at UFC 304, with their bout severely lacking in action. At the post-fight press conference, UFC CEO Dana White revealed that the promotion would not re-sign Mokaev, despite the latter's elite status.
Instead, White made a scathing remark as he nudged the Dagestani Englishman toward the PFL, apparently due to Mokaev having allegedly used an offer from the PFL to try and negotiate a better contract with the UFC.
However, if Mokaev's response to having more followers than the PFL is of any indication, he is in no hurry to sign with them.

The ex-UFC flyweight has not been shy about his desire to re-sign with the UFC in pursuit of his goal to become the promotion's youngest-ever champion, a milestone that appears next to impossible now. The leadup to his UFC 304 outing against Kape was marred by controversy.
The animosity between the two men was such that they brawled at the fighter hotel after an alleged ambush from Mokaev, were not present for the pre-fight press conference, nearly came to blows at the weigh-ins, and seemed determined to tear each other's heads off in the cage before the fight's official introduction.
However, following the official start of the bout, it quickly turned into a tentative affair that did not at all match the nuclear heat between both men. Worse still, Mokaev cheated during the fight. This did not endear Mokaev to fans, who is implied by White to be difficult to deal with.
Muhammad Mokaev has been trashing the PFL on social media
PFL President Ray Sefo was asked, at a recent press conference, whether his promotion intended to sign Muhammad Mokaev. The rumor was quickly shut down, with Sefo claiming to have caught wind of rumors about Mokaev being a difficult person. This drew a snarky response from the flyweight on X/Twitter.
"Of course you gonna say this.. I never accepted you deals. Nice move."
Given Muhammad Mokaev's desire to re-sign with the UFC and his poor relations with the PFL, it is unlikely he will head to the promotion. However, if neither the UFC nor PFL are eager to enlist his services, where else could he look to? Bellator is owned by the PFL, and ONE Championship doesn't favor wrestlers.
