Muhammad Mokaev reacts to Tom Aspinall's thoughts on his release from the promotion
Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall recently gave his thoughts on the puzzling release of undefeated UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev after his win at UFC 304 last weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Aspinall said this of Mokaev's release:
"It's not great, is it, mate? Let's be honest. It's a bad spot for him to be in. I would say, if you act like that, then you're gonna get consequences. There's plenty more people like that in the UFC, you know what I mean? There's definitely some stuff that the media [doesn't] know about this guy. I know that for sure. But there's [people] like that every time, you know what I mean? People are people. It's just a shame for Muhammad [Mokaev]. I hope they give him, you know, another chance."

UFC flyweight Steve Erceg provides possible reasons why Muhammad Mokaev was cut from the UFC
Former UFC flyweight world title challenger Steve Erceg has shed more light on why the UFC may have released Muhammad Mokaev. This decision is quite surprising as the Dagestani fighter is undefeated and has just won a decisive victory over Manel Kape last weekend.
Speaking to Middle Easy, Erceg speculated that it may have been Mokaev's behavior and attitude that pushed the company to part ways with him, saying:
"The way [Mokaev] treats people, don't know if fans get to see it but I don't know, he just seems like he's a little entitled and things he's very important, which I don't particularly like and obviously the UFC didn't like. So, hopefully he grows from here and learns a lesson."
He added:
"I saw it when I fought on the same card as him. Just the way he was treating the nutrition team and that sort thing from the UFC. Just like, little things that are just disrespectful that I thought were odd. He's a young kid, hopefully he'll learn from this moment."
