Muhammad Mokaev still looking for ways to get back to the UFC

Muhammad Mokaev has revealed that he's exploring every possible avenue to get himself re-signed to the UFC.

The 24-year-old recently fought out the last fight of his contract with the promotion when he faced Manel Kape last month at UFC 304. After a bitter build-up between the two fighters that led to much excitement, the pair were unable to deliver the fireworks they had seemingly promised, but Mokaev still walked away the victor via unanimous decision.

Following his win and the pay-per-view, Dana White was then asked about Mokaev's future with the UFC. He then confirmed that they were not planning on offering him a new contract, stating that the matchmakers weren't fans of his fighting style.

Since his release, Muhammad Mokaev has spent the last few weeks speculating about his future on social media. Recently, the undefeated flyweight confirmed that the multiple promotions have reached out to him with their offers.

Mokaev then asserted that whichever promotion he decides to sign with, it will be with the intention of eventually finding himself back in the UFC. He tweeted:

"Thank you to all organisations that reached out to me. Brave CF, Rizin, PFL, Karate Combat, ACA. I appreciate for believing in me, now I will sit down with my team and take the best option not on money wise but that could let me go back to the UFC ASAP! #M57 #KHKmma"

Steve Erceg weighs in on Muhammad Mokaev's UFC release

Men's flyweight contender Steve Erceg recently shared his thoughts on Muhammad Mokaev's UFC release.

Despite the British fighter extending his undefeated record to 13-0 with his victory over Manel Kape last month, the promotion opted against offering Mokaev a new contract.

This has since led to speculation as to whether there were more reasons why Mokaev wasn't re-signed, with many believing it may have been due to his antics during the build-up to his bout against Kape.

Erceg, however, believes it was actually due to the way Mokaev treated UFC staff behind-the-scenes. Speaking in a recent interview with Middle Easy, 'Astro Boy' said:

"The way [Mokaev] treats people, don't know if fans get to see it but I don't know, he just seems like he's a little entitled and things he's very important, which I don't particularly like and obviously the UFC didn't like. So, hopefully he grows from here and learns a lesson."
