"My ACL is gone guys" - UFC 308 fighter shares disappointing update on injury suffered at event
Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has shared the latest details about the injury he sustained at UFC 308 on social media. The Brazilian was part of the pay-per-view event that took place on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The 40-year-old recently uploaded a story to his Instagram account revealing that he damaged his ACL in his fight with Geoff Neal and will now have to undergo surgery in the coming days:
"My ACL is gone guys, going under the knife on the next couple of days. God's plans."

Dos Anjos faced Neal in a welterweight scrap on the prelims of the UFC 308 card. The fight was a short-lived affair that ended on an unfortunate note as the former champion suffered a knee injury in the opening minutes of the contest.
Neal was declared the winner by TKO via knee injury. With the victory, 'Handz of Steel' broke his two-fight skid in the UFC.
Rafael dos Anjos on a three-fight losing streak after UFC 308
Rafael dos Anjos is an MMA veteran who has been part of the UFC for nearly 16 years. The Brazilian started his UFC journey in November 2008 and has since featured in 36 UFC bouts and emerged victorious in 21 of them.
During his stint in the multi-billion dollar promotion, dos Anjos has shared the octagon with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Nate Diaz, Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone, Eddie Alvarez, Tony Ferguson, Robbie Lawler, Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards, Paul Felder, and Renato Moicano.
Dos Anjos has not found much success in his recent bouts in the UFC. The Brazilian is currently on a three-fight skid in the promotion and is 1-4 in his last five fights.
