"My youth, recovery, and strength" - Johan Ghazali lists his advantages over Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat
ONE Championship Muay Thai star Johan Ghazali will feature in his sixth bout under the promotion and it just might be his most difficult test to date.
At ONE 167 on June 7, 'Jojo' will take on Vietnamese veteran Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in what many are expecting to be a back-and-forth encounter of epic proportions, though Ghazali is confident that he has the edge heading into the bout.
Ghazali recently did an interview with The Borneo Post and outlined what might bring him the victory inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand:
"I think I can overcome him with my youth, recovery, and strength. That is something that I hope to use when fighting him next month."
Despite being a 18 years younger than his Vietnamese counterpart, the 17-year-old Malaysian-American has featured in some violent wars in his ONE Championship career.
Ghazali's 16-second knockout of Padetsuk Fairtex in his promotional debut now appears to have been a sign of things to come as the Rentap Muaythai Gym product currently holds an unblemished 5-0 record, with four of those wins coming via knockout.
Johan Ghazali predicts his performance against Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat
While he has consistently lit up his opponents inside the Circle with his sharp hits, Ghazali knows that he cannot rush Nguyen lest he falls victim to his opponent's knockout power.
However, Johan Ghazali is confident that the win will come if he remains patient as he told ONE Championship in an interview:
"Like any other fight, I'm going for the knockout, hopefully in the later rounds, maybe round two or three. I believe I'll tire him out by then and then it'll allow me to get the finish a bit easier."
ONE 167 will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
