"Narrative came out of nowhere"- Jon Jones issues hilarious analogy while responding to ducking Tom Aspinall allegations
Jon Jones recently issued a hilarious analogy while responding to Tom Aspinall's latest allegations that he is ducking a fight with him. The heavyweight champion has been going back-and-forth with the Englishman on social media and answered several questions related to him prior to UFC 309.
Jones is scheduled to defend his title against Stipe Miocic this Saturday. The fight has received criticism from fans because Aspinall is the reigning interim champion and has one successful title defense. Despite the Englishman's status, it's important to note the Jones vs. Miocic was originally scheduled to headlined UFC 295 but was rescheduled after the heavyweight champion suffered a pec injury.
During his pre-fight media availability ahead of UFC 309, 'Bones' clapped back at Aspinall's comments about ducking him and made a unique comparison. Jones said he isn't ducking the 31-year-old because there were never any negotiations for a fight:
"You can't duck a man that you were never scheduled to fight. It's like saying you got turned down by a girl who you never even hit on... So, I'm not ducking Tom Aspinall. If I failed to fight Stipe [Miocic], I would be ducking Stipe because we contractually have been signed up to fight over a year ago. The Tom narrative came out of nowhere. He won a belt and now suddenly I'm ducking him."

Jon Jones claims he has nothing to gain from defeating Tom Aspinall
In addition to responding to Tom Aspinall's latest comments about ducking him, Jon Jones claimed that he has nothing to gain from defeating the Englishman.
During the aforementioned clip, Jones said defeating Aspinall would be the equivalent of defeating Ciryl Gane and that he believes he would have nothing to gain and everything to lose:
"We finally found someone who may give me a great challenge and everyone wants to see it so bad. But for me, it's like, what's in it for me? [Aspinall] changes nothing if I beat him. Beating Tom is just like beating Ciryl Gane. Has a whole country behind him, he's hot right now. What happens to me after I beat him? Nothing changes for me."
