Jake Shields, who previously faced him in a physical altercation in 2022, accused Jackson of hypocrisy for his political stance. Shields posted:
"This guy challenged me to a fight so I beat his a** and made him cry. He ran and called the cops and pressed charges despite being part of the defund the police movement. This is the kinda men who vote Kamala."

The animosity between Shields and Jackson dates back to a physical altercation at the UFC Performance Institute in 2022. During that incident, Shields allegedly struck Jackson multiple times, and video footage of the encounter went viral on social media.
The clip showed Shields landing open-handed strikes on Jackson while others tried to separate them. Following the incident, Shields was charged with misdemeanor battery.
The dispute gained additional attention after UFC fighter Darren Till also voiced his support for Shields. Till took to social media to endorse Shields’ comments, adding his own harsh words about Jackson:
“Of course, Mike Jackson voted for her [Kamala Harris]. Possibly the biggest piece of sh*t to ever be involved in MMA. Glad @jakeshieldsajj showed him for the absolute horrid human he is. Little Mike, go away.”

A look Into Jake Shields' career in the UFC
Jake Shields’ UFC career began on Oct 23, 2010, when he made his debut against Martin Kampmann at UFC 121. A split decision win over Kampmann earned him a title shot against the winner of Georges St-Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck at UFC 124.
After St-Pierre triumphed over Koscheck, Shields faced him for the UFC welterweight championship on April 30, 2011, at UFC 129. Shields lost the bout via unanimous decision.
Shields' UFC run continued with ups and downs. He suffered a first-round TKO loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 25 in 2011 but bounced back with a unanimous decision win over Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 144. After a brief return to middleweight, Shields defeated Ed Herman at UFC 150, though the win was overturned to a No Contest after he failed a drug test.
In 2013, Shields defeated Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia via split decision but later suffered a loss to Héctor Lombard. In April 2014, Shields was released from the UFC. Dana White cited Shields' decline in performance and lack of development, stating that he was no longer a threat in the welterweight division.
