Neil Magny surpasses Kamaru Usman and Georges St-Pierre in massive welterweight records at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos 

With an impressive victory at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos, Neil Magny broke multiple UFC records.

With 20 wins, Magny surpassed MMA royalty Georges St-Pierre to become the fighter with the most wins in the promotion's welterweight division.

When asked about his thoughts on the achievement, Magny said:

"It feels amazing, man. All the hard work is definitely paying off. I'm super fortunate to be here. It's been a long journey in the UFC to get here and I think I'm just getting started. So let's keep going."

'The Haitian Sensation' also set the record for the most significant strikes landed in the UFC's welterweight division. Prior to November 5, St-Pierre and Kamaru Usman were first and second on this list with 1254 and 1247 significant strikes, respectively.

Neil Magny has surpassed Kamaru Usman and Georges St-Pierre to become the welterweight with the most significant strikes landed in UFC history.

Neil Magny took on Daniel Rodriguez in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 214. Coming into the fight, Rodriguez was riding an impressive four-fight win streak that included victories over Li Jingliang, Mike Perry and Kevin Lee.

Magny, on the other hand, was coming off a submission loss against Shavkat Rakhmonov.

Come fight night, the 35-year-old put his grappling abilities to use and secured an impressive submission victory in the third round.

Magny has been in the UFC for nearly 10 years and during this time, he has fought the who's who of the welterweight division.

The 35-year-old has squared off against the likes of Tim Means, Demian Maia, Kelvin Gastelum, Hector Lombard, Lorenz Larkin, Rafael dos Anjos, Carlos Condit, Johny Hendricks, Li Jingliang, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Robbie Lawler, Michael Chiesa and Geoff Neal.


Neil Magny calls out Gilbert Burns after the fight

In his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Neil Magny proposed a fight with fellow welterweight contender Gilbert Burns.

The 35-year-old offered to fight 'Durinho' in Brazil in the month of January.

"Gilbert burns, let's do it in Brazil. January 21st, right around the corner... Let's go."

Burns was last seen in action at UFC 273 when he took on Khamzat Chimaev in a three-round war. The back-and-forth slugfest ended in a unanimous decision victory for 'Borz'.

UFC 283 is scheduled to take place in Burns' home country of Brazil on January 21. So, there is a possibility of the 36-year-old competing on that fight card.
