NELK Boys reveal how Khabib Nurmagomedov's team helped them pass Russian immigration

The NELK Boys had to take the help of Khabib Nurmagomedov's team to get entry into Russia. The YouTubers recently traveled to the Republic of Dagestan in Russia where they were spotted training with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

The boys were also seen in the company of internet sensation Hasbulla, who seems to have developed close ties with them.

However, Kyle Forgeard of NELK recently revealed that their entry into Russia wasn't smooth as they were stopped by immigration. Forgeard even recalls feeling like the authorities knew of their visit beforehand.

They initially called up Hasbulla's manager, who sought the help of Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager's brother. The NELK boys were apparently welcomed to the country once Nurmagomedov's associate arrived at the scene.

In a recent appearance on his podcast, Forgeard said:

"When they started questioning us and pulling us aside, I was like, 'Damn! What if they knew we were coming and they really will try and make an example out of us'...They said someone from North America comes to Dagestan once every six months... Then we texted Hasbulla's manager who was waiting outside the airport and then he called like Khabib's manager's brother or something. And then he showed up and basically told the customs guys, like, 'Yo, they're coming to see Islam and stuff like that'. And right away, they were like, 'Okay. Welcome to Russia.'"

When Khabib Nurmagomedov struck a deal with the NELK Boys

The NELK Boys' ties with Khabib Nurmagomedov dates back to the lead up to UFC 254 in 2020, when the YouTubers trolled 'The Eagle' in Abu Dhabi. The former lightweight champ even appeared on their FULL SEND Podcast last year where he struck a deal.

Asked who he'd like to meet from any sphere of life, Nurmagomedov named Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan. 'The Eagle' even offered NELK three sheep if they could arrange a meeting with the six-time NBA champ. The UFC Hall of Famer said:

“Brother, eh, you told me. Three sheep. I’m gonna give him three sheep. But he have to make me and Michael Jordan meet. If you make me and Michael Jordan meet, I’m going to give you three sheep.”
