"Never seen Rodtang move like that before" - Fans in pure awe of Rodtang's technical side against Denis Puric at ONE 167
Reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon successfully redeemed himself during his latest bout inside the Circle, defeating Denis Puric at ONE 167.
The two striking sensations squared off in a catchweight kickboxing match on June 7 inside the sold-out Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Recently, ONE Championship posted one of the sequences in the match and captioned it with:
"Ninja-like reflexes 😮 Can Rodtang hold onto his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title in the rematch against third-ranked contender Jacob Smith at ONE 169: Atlanta? @rodtang_jimungnon"
The video highlighted 'The Iron Man's' evasiveness by dodging the strikes that 'The Bosnian Menace' attempted and countered it with a solid punch right at the end of the exchange.
This display of great reflexes by the Thai superstar received a positive reception from fans, as users @tjsbbt, @edricvalhalla, @peteoneilbass, and @jessemnemonic gave him positive messages through their comments on the post:
"Never seen rodtang move like that before"
"That's the first time I've seen Rod Rodtang actually avoid punches 😂"
"This fight was a blast."
"Rodtang is just another type of beast. Great fight and a banger! 🔥"
Rodtang called out Takeru Segawa after his win over Denis Puric at ONE 167
During his post-fight interview after the victory, the Jitmuangnon Gym representative called out Japanese superstar and former ONE flyweight kickboxing world title challenger Takeru Segawa to push through their megafight that was scrapped due to an injury he suffered before the match.
But the two combat sports superstars would have to wait a little longer for this to happen, as they both are booked on different fights. Rodtang will defend his ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title against Jacob Smith on November 8 at ONE 169: Atlanta at State Farm Arena.
Takeru, meanwhile, will face Black Panther on September 27 at ONE Friday Fights 81.
