Newly-crowned champ Belal Muhammad trolls Conor McGregor following the Irishman's "even smoother now" post
Belal Muhammad and Conor McGregor have added another chapter to their broader story of sending barbs toward one another over social media. An account on X known as @historyinmemes was remarking about how smooth a prime Conor McGregor was while sharing a clip of a crisp punching combination he landed on Eddie Alvarez.
This was from one of the Dublin native's most iconic performances as McGregor connected with that en route to winning the UFC lightweight title. To this post, 'The Notorious' retweeted the footage by stating:
"I'm even smoother now"
In a retweet of his own, Muhammad simply responded to the former champ-champ's post by posting three laughing emojis at the claim from the Irish superstar.

Belal Muhammad and Conor McGregor seemingly campaigning for a welterweight title fight
Belal Muhammad and Conor McGregor have engaged in some trash talk but if the latter seemingly gets his way, the two may settle things inside of the octagon. Before his June 29 fight was scrapped due to sustaining a toe injury, McGregor seemed to intimate he could find himself in line for a welterweight title shot against the winner of Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad at UFC 304.
The Irish combatant was lined up for a welterweight fight vs. Michael Chandler at the show prior, UFC 303 but it seems like they're trying to re-book this fight as soon as possible. McGregor has been openly critical of the Edwards versus Muhammad fight both in terms of how the fight looked on paper and its commercial potential.
He said both men had decision-heavy MMA resumes and lamented about its business potential, even stating it shouldn't be a pay-per-view because it would do so poorly.
The 36-year-old also has been mocked by McGregor for an X post going around stating Only Fans star/influencer boxer Elle Brooke has dropped more UFC fighters than Muhammad. This is after Brooke dropped Paige VanZant during their Misfits Boxing title fight earlier this year.
The new kingpin of 170 pounds responded to McGregor by referencing the time 'The Notorious' lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov via submission during their lightweight championship clash years ago.
'Remember the Name' has downplayed the idea of a McGregor fight ever happening despite interest in the money-making component.
In referencing the aforementioned toe injury to the Irishman, Muhammad mentioned how the former featherweight and lightweight champion would probably pull out of a potential fight with him due to a broken nail when addressing the media at a pre-UFC 304 press event.
The Illinois native is fresh off of a dominant performance of Leon Edwards to capture the crown on July 27 and the first title challenger for Muhammad is unclear as of this writing.
