Nick Diaz responds after fan asks him to box Conor McGregor
MMA legend Nick Diaz denied having any plans to enter the boxing ring after a fan suggested he should box Conor McGregor next.
Diaz posted training footage on Instagram, showing him jumping ropes and working the bag. According to Alex Behunin of MMA Mania, the 41-year-old may fight Vicente Luque at the last pay-per-view event of the year at UFC 310, after their previous match was canceled due to travel issues.
In the comments, a fan asked the former UFC title challenger to lace up boxing gloves and fight 'The Notorious' in the ring. Diaz didn't appear too keen on boxing McGregor, indicating he's still focused on his MMA career, at least for now.
A fan commented:
"Why not box man you should box Conor"
Nick Diaz responded by saying:
"I’m stuck in the cage…. For now."
Diaz has barely been active in the cage due to losing five years of his career. After his fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in January 2015, the Californian tested positive for marijuana and was handed a five-year ban by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Upon his return in 2021, the former Strikeforce champion faced former UFC champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 266 (a rematch of their clash at UFC 47 in 2004), wherein Diaz refused to continue in the third round.
Although many may write Diaz off, it's undeniable the Stockton star remains a crowd favorite and will draw a carnival of fans wherever he fights next.

Nick Diaz is not one to back down. This attitude radiates whether the Stockton fighter is in the cage or in the comments section. Diaz recently posted a clip of an interview he conducted on his Instagram.
In the comments, a fan said the Californian has gone soft and is now a shadow of his former self. The former Strikeforce, WEC, and IFC welterweight champion didn't take too kindly to the troll's comments and didn't hesitate to give a piece of his mind in the replies.
The fan wrote:
"Nick Diaz turned soft"
To which the Stockton brawler replied:
"Your mom is soft"
