Nick Diaz responds after fan asks him if he would fight Tony Ferguson in the future
Nick Diaz recently responded after a fan asked whether he would be interested in fighting Tony Ferguson in the future. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion was scheduled to return at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, but it was later scrapped from the card and postponed.
There has been plenty of uncertainty surrounding 'El Cucuy' as it appeared as though he announced his retirement following his loss to Michael Chiesa, but then expressed interest in continuing his career. Since then, there have been many in the MMA community that have made suggestions and several named Diaz as a fitting opponent should the promotion give him one final chance. The former interim lightweight champion is no stranger to the Stockton native as he fought his brother, Nate at UFC 279 in 2022.
After Diaz warned other fighters in an Instagram post hyping up his eventual octagon return, a fan asked if the former TUF winner could be a potential opponent. Diaz shut down a potential bout against Ferguson and mentioned that it isn't logical because his brother already defeated him. He wrote:
"No, my brother beat him like a week ago"
