Nina-Marie Daniele gives three-word reaction to Sean Strickland potentially fighting for middleweight title next
Nina-Marie Daniele recently expressed her support for Sean Strickland, as he is next in line to fight for the UFC middleweight title. According to UFC CEO Dana White, Strickland will take on the victor of this weekend's UFC 305 main event between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.
In the main event of UFC 297, du Plessis defeated Strickland via split decision to become the new champion in a result that sparked considerable controversy. Following his defeat, 'Tarzan' demanded an immediate rematch, saying he had been robbed by the judges.
However, the promotion dismissed his request and proceeded to book du Plessis vs. Adesanya, as the two fighters were initially scheduled to face off following the South African's victory over Robert Whittaker at UFC 290.
Strickland returned to the octagon at UFC 302 against former title challenger Paulo Costa, defeating him via split decision and solidifying his position as the No.1 contender for the title.
Following his victory against Costa, Strickland effectively eliminated the prospect of facing former champion Whittaker, as the 33-year-old announced that he would not participate in any more fights and would instead hold out for the opportunity to challenge du Plessis or Adesanya for the middleweight title. It appears that his request was granted.
In a recent interview with Jim Rome, White confirmed that Strickland's next fight will be for UFC gold. The announcement was then shared on social media by 'Tarzan'.
In response, Marie Daniele, who is a good friend of Strickland, wrote:
''To the death''

It’s been history ever since. The two most unlikely people to become friends LOL. @SStricklandMMA is a real one!"
