"No more jobs" - Joe Rogan paints picture of "crazy" automated future where every U.S. adult receives "free money" worth $200,000
Joe Rogan recently discussed the possibility of a dystopian automated future in which every adult American citizen receives $200,000 annually as basic income. Rogan clarified that this version of the future involved robots taking over all the jobs that currently require human effort.
Rogan is among the most successful podcasters today and is widely known for hosting conversations about various social, political, and technological topics. On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast (JRE), the UFC commentator has previously discussed the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced automated robotics on human civil society extensively.
On a recent episode of his podcast with Billy Carson (JRE #2160), Rogan discussed the possibility of a universal basic income of $200,000 for every American adult citizen, which will be funded by corporations that benefit from AI-based automated robots. He said:
"You’ve got $200,000 a year because everything’s automated and everything’s done by the government. Then you’re going to have to find something. You’re going to have to find a purpose... For most people, there’s great satisfaction in working and accomplishing a hard day’s work. You get your paycheck, and you feel like you’ve accomplished something. This will be financed essentially by the ability to get free money because robots control everything. No more jobs.” [H/T Finance.Yahoo.com]

When Joe Rogan told Russell Brand about scary killer robot that "eats people"
As mentioned above, Joe Rogan is no stranger to the world of wild technology and once discussed a particularly frightening type of robot with comedian Russell Brand on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Intriguingly, Rogan specified that it was the "scariest" piece of news he had ever read.
During their conversation on the popular show (JRE #1283), Rogan shared details of a robot that could function by consuming human flesh. Stating that the project was initiated by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), Rogan said:
"You know what once scared me more than anything I've ever read? I read about this thing that DARPA was putting together. It's a robot called the EATR robot. It's a robot that fuels itself on biological matter. So it essentially could eat bodies. So you've got a murderous robot that eats people."
