"No matter who it is" - Fans cook up potential fights for Japanese icon Takeru Segawa's return to action

The flyweight kickboxing landscape in ONE Championship saw a massive shift when Japanese star Takeru Segawa made his promotional debut earlier this year and fans are looking forward to his return.

'The Natural Born Crusher' failed in his quest to capture Superlek Kiatmoo9's ONE flyweight kickboxing world title at ONE 165. Though he put up a tremendous fight, it left him with a nasty bruise on his left thigh.

As he works back into fighting shape, ONE Championship asked fans via Instagram this question:

"The Japanese star is ready to make his return to action 🀩 Who do you want to see Takeru take on next? πŸ‘€@k1takeru"

Takeru's durability receives high praise from Superlek

Many wondered why Takeru opted not to defend the leg kicks that 'The Kicking Machine' was throwing at him throughout their five-round encounter and Superlek did a breakdown of it on ONE's Instagram.

Superlek shared his observations and said:

"It looks like it burns. I was very surprised he was still standing at the end. Because every kick I threw, he didn't defend any of them. Some may be wondering, 'Why was Takeru not defending himself?', but don't forget Takeru's lead leg is his left leg. He has to step in to punch me. He can't protect himself whenever he steps in. He sacrificed his defense to attack me."
