"No one has done that to AJ" - Frank Warren gushes over Daniel Dubois' victory as the Brit revels in proving critics wrong

Boxing promoter Frank Warren praised Daniel Dubois for pulling off a major upset win over former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Dubois successfully defended the IBF heavyweight title against Joshua with a fifth-round KO, which is by far the biggest win of his professional boxing career.

While both men looked sharp in the fight, an overhand right from Dubois knocked Joshua down in the final seconds of Round 1. 'AJ' survived the knockdown but the moment altered the course of the fight. Dubois dropped the former champion several times in the fight and never allowed him to completely recover.

Joshua, who is known for being a technically sound boxer, was forced to pursue a finish as the only possible way to pull off a win. He had Dubois hurt in Round 5 and charged with reckless abandon, getting viciously knocked out in the process.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Warren said:

"No one's done that to AJ like that, ever... Nobody. This man's got phenomenal power in both hands. He's got a great chin himself. Because AJ caught him with a couple of good shots and he took them well. He's got a good chin. He gritted his teeth and came for it and got him with a counter."

Despite being the defending champion, Dubois was a +280 underdog heading into the Sept. 21 fight against Joshua. While many expected Joshua to recapture the heavyweight title and potentially finish Dubois in the fight, the IBF champion proved the predictions wrong.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Dubois said:

"They were all saying I was going to get knocked out. We all saw who got knocked out. Now I'm done with the business and I'm glad I proved everyone wrong but this is just the start of my journey. This is the start for me."
