Noche UFC 306: Ronaldo Rodriguez vs. Ode Osbourne: Live round-by-round updates
UFC flyweight contenders Ronaldo Rodriguez and Ode Osbourne will kick things off on the main card of the Noche UFC 306 pay-per-view showcase. Their fiery exchange in the press conference has set the tone for the showdown.
Rodriguez competed in Season 4 of 'Dana White’s Contender Series' and lost to Jerome Rivera. However, since then, he has registered six straight wins with four finishes. 'Lazy Boy' put on an impressive performance on his UFC debut, collecting a second-round submission win against Denys Bondar in February.
Meanwhile, Osbourne has registered a 4-5 run in the UFC and is coming off back-to-back losses against Jafel Filho and Asu Almabayev. His last success inside the octagon was a split-decision win against Charles Johnson.
Noche UFC 306 will go down on Sept. 14, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The early prelims begin at 4:30 p.m. PT and 7:30 p.m. ET followed by the prelims show at 5 p.m. PT and 8 p.m. ET. The main card is expected to start at 10 p.m. ET and 7 P.M. PT.

Round 1
Osbourne catches Rodriguez with a clean left hand and stifles his opponent with leg kicks. He drops the Mexican with a stinging right hook and follows up with a few shots from mount before transitioning to the triangle choke. Rodriguez refuses to quit and escapes the position. Rodriguez, now in top control, lands an elbow and quick shots to the body. Seems like Rodriguez has recovered from the early damage as he lands solid strikes from top control. Osbourne has done a great job of hurting his opponent with slicing elbows from the bottom position.

Round 2
Rodriguez swarms in with a single-leg attempt, takes Osbourne down, escapes a guillotine choke attempt, and transitions to his opponent's back. He pounds out thudding strikes from top control. What a scramble as Osbourne tries to escape the position, only to give up his back. It’s been a dominant round for Rodriguez, with Osbourne barely doing enough to avoid getting submitted. With just under a minute left in the second frame, Osbourne reverses the position and finishes the round in top control.

Round 3
Osbourne pops a jab and stuffs two takedown attempts by Rodriguez. 'Lazy Boy' swings hard with the left hook and gets caught by a short right hand from Osbourne. Rodriguez lands a solid left hook but misses with a wheel kick attempt. Osbourne shoots in for a takedown, but Rodriguez sprawls effectively, inviting the fight back to the feet.
Osbourne takes Rodriguez down but the Mexican manages to get back to his feet after a kimura lock submission attempt. Another takedown attempt from Osbourne but Rodriguez successfully defends the attempt and ends up in top control.
