"Nothing changes" - Former title challenger Felipe Lobo says Nabil Anane's freakish height and length won't matter
Former bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger Felipe Lobo says he isn't fazed about taking on a fighter who towers over everyone in the division.
The Brazilian powerhouse returns to action this Friday, August 2, to face Thai prodigy Nabil Anane in an exciting ONE bantamweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs Balart.
It would be nearly six months since Lobo fights again on the world stage. Following his epic world title battle against 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty this past February, having that time away has certainly helped Lobo concentrate on the task ahead, which is to get back into the world title picture as soon as possible.
But right now, he's got a bizarre matchup ahead of him, in an improvable David vs Goliath showdown. 20-year-old Nabil Anane, who stands at 6 ft. 3, is on a roll with an impressive 3-0 win streak.
He hopes to capture Lobo's No. 3 spot in the rankings with another memorable victory. But whatever danger Anane poses to 'Demolition Man', it's nothing compared to what Lobo can do to him.
Speaking to SCMP MMA this week, Lobo said:
"I've never fought tall guys but nothing changes. I'm training to beat everyone in the division."
ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and for free in Canada and the US with an active Prime Video subscription.

Top ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender Felipe Lobo is one of the hardest-working athletes on the ONE roster.
Checking into his gym at the renowned Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Lobo is seen putting in the work every day for long hours on end.
Training with John Hutchinson, who is world-renowned coach of champions like Anatoly Malykhin and Fabricio Andrade, Lobo prepares his body and mind for war.
Proud of his Lobo's progress before fight week, Hutchinson wrote the following caption on Instagram:
