“Nothing gets me pumped more” - Nico Carrillo excited to return to action against Saemapetch Fairtex
First-ranked ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo can't wait to step back inside the ONE Championship ring and prove himself yet again on the world's biggest stage.
The 25-year-old is scheduled to face no.4-ranked Saemapetch Fairtex of Thailand in a pivotal showdown between top five elite, and he says he's just getting ready to put on a show.
Carrillo told the Sky Sports MMA Club in a recent guest appearance:
"I’m good. I’m good. I’m grateful, I’m super grateful that I’m back punching, training, and being able to put my focus on my Thai boxing and fight. Nothing gets me pumped more. That’s what I live for. Training hard every single day, just focused on that one thing on my mind for months. So yeah, I’m just taking it day by day, and super happy to have another fight lined up."
'King of the North' Nico Carrillo is set to lock horns with Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video.
The event broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video. The event airs on Friday, July 5th, in U.S. primetime.
'King of the North' Nico Carrillo looking to 'unsettle' Saemapetch Fairtex: "We'll test that character"
'King of the North' Nico Carrillo believes he can make upcoming opponent Saemapetch Fairtex break under pressure, despite the latter being well experienced and a legit threat.
The 25-year-old Scotish sensation said:
"Of course, of course. Listen when I fight a guy, I need to get their mind unsettled. I’ll need to be backing him up and then we’ll test that character. He’s a great competitor, he’s been out there with some of the best fighters."
Carrillo continued:
"He’s won loads of fights at the highest levels. He had a great fight with Nong-O, a good war with Tawanchai, Kulabdam, too, so he is great. But I just need to get him out."
