“Offer me any fighter” - Victoria Souza ready to take on the world after impressive win over Alyse Anderson
Victoria Souza is feeling invincible following her impressive performance against Alyse Anderson.
After scoring one of the year's most stunning upsets—submitting Japanese star Itsuki Hirata via a 91-second guillotine choke at ONE 167 in June—Souza returned to the Circle looking for another big win in The Mile High City as she squared off with the returning Alyse Anderson.
Despite giving up a considerable size and length advantage, Souza put her grappling skills to work at ONE 168: Denver and earned a decisive unanimous decision victory over 'Lil Savage' inside Ball Arena.
Never one to turn down an opportunity to compete, Souza is more than willing to take on any opponent ONE Championship plans to put in front of her. Speaking to the promotion, Souza said:
"I’ve never turned down a fight. They can offer me any fighter in the division and I’ll fight."
Overall, 'Vick' is 9-2 in her mixed martial arts career and now has three noteworthy wins inside the Circle. Potentially one big victory away from her first shot at atomweight gold, the only question left is, who's next for the Brazilian beauty?
Victoria Souza credits her continued evolution for her recent success inside the Circle
Making her promotional debut three years ago, Victoria Souza struggled to find the win column early, suffering losses against the late Victoria Lee and Noelle Grandjean—though she managed to snag a win against Linda Darrow in between those losses.
Since then, 'Vick' has bagged back-to-back wins against some seriously tough competition, something she chalks up to her continued evolution since signing with ONE Championship:
“I’ve evolved a lot in ONE Championship. I’m more experienced and I’m always looking to evolve to put on a show for the fans.”
