Ok Rae Yoon on Lowen Tynanes win in Denver: "I saw it as my stepping stone back to the title"

Ahead of his return, Ok Rae Yoon reflected on his unanimous decision win against Lowen Tynanes. In August 2022, Ok was dethroned of the ONE lightweight MMA world title due to a second-round knockout loss against Christian Lee.

Nine months later, the South Korean lightweight returned for his latest matchup against Tynanes at ONE Fight Night 10 in Broomfield, Colorado.

Ok and Tynanes battled for fifteen minutes inside the sold-out 1stBank Center. Once the dust settled, the former ONE lightweight MMA world champion emerged victorious by unanimous decision, starting his road back to the title.

During a recent interview with ONE, Ok had this to say about the importance of securing a win at ONE Fight Night 10:

"So I knew the fight was very important, and I trained very hard. I stopped every other thing I was doing and focused on my preparation. I saw it as my stepping stone back to the title."

Ok Rae Yoon made his ONE Championship debut in April 2022. The South Korean lightweight started his promotional tenure with three consecutive unanimous decision wins against Marat Gafurov, Eddie Alvarez, and Christian Lee before the previously mentioned defeat in August 2022.

Ok Rae Yoon looks to secure lightweight title shot with win at ONE Fight Night 23

On July 5, Ok Rae Yoon plans to continue his road to a lightweight MMA title shot.

To do so, the 33-year-old must get through Alibeg Rasulov, a 31-year-old promotional newcomer with a professional MMA record of 14-0.

There are high stakes for Ok vs. Rasulov, as the interim ONE lightweight world title will be up for grabs in this fixture.

In addition, the victor will book a shot to unify the gold with ONE lightweight MMA king Christian Lee, who will keep a close eye on the matchup.

ONE Fight Night 23 goes down inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The upcoming event featuring Ok vs. Rasulov can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
