Oleksandr Usyk rushed to hospital after title win, Tyson Fury reacts: "We punched the f*** out of each other"
Oleksandr Usyk was taken to the hospital soon after his title win against Tyson Fury. The long-awaited heavyweight title unification fight between the pair billed as the 'Ring of Fire' took place this Saturday at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The last fighter to hold the undisputed heavyweight title was Lennox Lewis, who achieved the feat after defeating Evander Holyfield in 1999.
Usyk entered the fight with Fury with a ninth-round knockout against Daniel Dubois in August last year, bringing his record to 21-0.
Meanwhile, Fury was coming off a close split-decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, where he survived a knockdown. The win improved his record to 34-0-1.
In their unification fight, Usyk seemed to win the first three rounds before Fury found his rhythm in the fourth. The Brit displayed impressive skills as he began to catch Usyk with body shots.
However, Usyk reversed the tide in the eighth round, and nearly finished Fury in the ninth. He scored a knockdown just before the bell spared Fury, hurting him with a left hand before sending him reeling into a corner in the closing moments of the round.
Usyk emerged victorious by split decision after a fierce 12 rounds to become the new undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion. The official scorecards were 115-112, 114-113, and 113-114.

According to promoter Frank Warren, the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era was rushed to the hospital following the fight to have his broken jaw examined.
Fury reacted to Usyk's injury at the post-fight presser by saying:
''We punched the f*** out of each other for 12 rounds there!''
