A new ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion emerged this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 24 after Mayssa Bastos defeated Danielle Kelly in their world championship match inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Bastos showed more aggression and worked her way to multiple submission attempts against Kelly throughout the 10-minute bout to secure the unanimous decision nod from the judges.

The Brazilian superstar's crowning moment was published by ONE Championship on Instagram, with the caption:

This was the second victory for the nine-time BJJ world champion in the promotion, as she also scored a unanimous decision win on her debut against Kanae Yamada in March 2024 at ONE Fight Night 20.

Mayssa Bastos took home an additional $50,000 bonus for her victory

Bastos' career-defining win over Kelly got even sweeter after ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong gifted her with a $50,000 performance bonus for her outstanding display of submission transitions.

Bastos was joined by Aliff Dor Dechapan (who defeated Zakaria El Jamari via first-round knockout) and Elias Mahmoudi (who defeated Taiki Naito via third-round knockout) as the $50,000 bonus recipients from the card.
