ONE 169: Jackie Buntan promises to showcase "a completely different side" of her game vs. Anissa Meksen

Jackie Buntan is confident that she will continue to defy expectations when she returns to action at ONE 169.

The Muay Thai specialist has already put in some incredibly impressive performances during her time in ONE Championship. However, her next challenge sees her enter uncharted territory for the first time as she makes the switch to kickboxing.

At ONE 169, Buntan will face off with Anissa Meksen for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world championship. It's a big test for her to take on an accomplished kickboxer in her first attempt, but this is exactly the kind of challenge that motivates her.

A key aspect of this fight will be seeing how Jackie Buntan is able to apply her Muay Thai skillset in kickboxing against a seasoned veteran.

In a recent interview with Beyond Kick, the Boxing Works affiliate spoke about showcasing her ability to adapt in this fight and showing the fans something new:

"I think the fans are going to see a completely different side of me and my adaptability that I feel like I've been showing in my fights, and I want to just be able to continue to show that."

Jackie Buntan will play to her strengths in this fight

In order for Jackie Buntan to get her hand raised on Nov. 8 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, she can't afford to play into her opponent's game.

Beating Anissa Meksen in a fight that favors her is going to be a tall order for anyone in the world, let alone someone who is competing in their first major kickboxing bout.

For Buntan, she needs to play to every advantage that she has in this fight whether it's her physicality, speed or power.

Negating the vast experience gap between them is massively important for the Filipino-American who dreams of holding ONE Championship gold.

On Nov. 8, she gets her second chance to do so.
