"One big bomb by Nico" - Chatri Sityodtong believes Nico Carrillo's size and power will trouble Superlek in inevitable warÂ
Nico Carrillo's boundless knockout power could trouble newly crowned ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion and reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9. ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong certainly believes so.
The self-made entrepreneur and lifelong martial artist explained why the top-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender's power will outtrump 'The Kicking Machine's' supreme fight IQ when they eventually cross paths for ONE gold during a session with the members of the media ahead of ONE Friday Fights 81.
He shared:
"Nico is a giant, giant bantamweight, and I'm very curious to see how Superlek handles that size and power of Nico. I do think Superlek technically is at a different level than Nico. But Nico has power. Nico has size. Nico has heart."
Doubling down on Nico Carrillo's monstrous knockout power, the ONE head honcho, who received his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt from Renzo Gracie during the live broadcast of ONE 168: Denver earlier this month, added:
"These are very dangerous things. It doesn't matter if someone's technically better than you. One big bomb by Nico, his right hand or right elbow, and it doesn't matter who you are, you're going to go out."
In the same virtual exchange, Sityodtong admitted that it's about time that the Scottish star gets his chance to vie for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.

Nico Carrillo's knockout power has mesmerized the global stage
The Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy man only knows how to win in highlight-reel fashion, and his gallery of knockouts in the world's largest martial arts organization is a perfect testament to that.
Nico Carrillo debuted with a cracking third-round knockout of Furkan Karabag at ONE Friday Fights 13 in April last year, putting the hard-hitting Turk away via a pair of ill-intent straight rights and follow-up punches.
Two months later, he followed up his dream debut with a stinging one-two combination that put Muangthai PK Saenchai away. The fight secured him a six-figure contract to compete amongst the promotion's biggest stars.
'King of the North' made his American primetime debut against former divisional king Nong-O Hama at ONE Friday Fights 46 in December last year. Though the Thai icon came close to finishing him in the first round, the 25-year-old slugger shut him down in the second round to go 3-0 in his ONE Championship campaign.
Most recently, Nico Carrillo pushed his overall resume to 27-3 off a second-round finish of former ONE world title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 23.
