34-year-old ONE Championship debutant 'The Steel City Kid' Nico Cornejo of the United States is admittedly a little starstruck heading into his promotional debut in the world's largest martial arts organization.
Cornejo is set to compete in the Circle for the first time in ONE's historic return to U.S. soil, and all the stars are out to grace the event.
The Colorado native says he is honored to share the stage with some of the martial arts world's biggest names—guys like Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9—but there's one man he's looking forward to meeting in person.
Cornejo says he is absolutely thrilled to share the card with reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion 'Darth Rigatoni' Mikey Musumeci.
'The Steel City Kid' told MMA UK in an exclusive interview:
"Watching Mikey and watching all his fights... Man, it really is something else. He's an amazing grappler for sure. I'll be looking forward to that too for sure."
Nico 'The Steel City Kid' Cornejo is set to face 18-year-old Singaporean-American rising star The Phenom Adrian Lee.
The two lock horns at ONE 168: Denver, which goes down live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, on Friday, September 6.

Cornejo told MMA UK:
