ONE Championship returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok for a loaded ONE Fight Night 24 card, headlined by an interim ONE strawweight MMA world title clash between former champion Jarred Brooks and streaking Cuban sensation Gustavo Balart.
In the co-main event of the evening, ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion Danielle Kelly returned to the ring, putting her 26 pounds of gold on the line against 115-win veteran Mayssa Bastos. But first, fight fans inside the Mecca of Muay Thai and those watching around the world were treated to nine explosive matchups, and we’ve got all the results and highlights.
Debutant Amy Pirnie kicked things off with a bang at ONE Fight Night 24, scoring a vicious 49-second knockout of Yu Yau Pui. In the opening minute, Pirnie landed a perfectly timed left hook that sent her opponent crashing to the canvas and down for the count.
Not to be outdone, rising Muay Thai star Aliff landed his own first-round knockout in the second bout of the evening. Squaring off with Zakaria El Jamari, Aliff landed a brutal body shot in the corner, followed by a crushing right hand that ultimately ended El Jamari’s night in under two minutes. Aliff was awarded a $50,000 bonus for his performance courtesy of ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Mongolia’s Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu kept the finishes coming in the first mixed martial arts fight of the night, earning an incredible last-second arm triangle choke submission victory over Carlos Bumina-Ang. Baatarkhuu put his opponent to sleep at the 4:59 mark of the final round, moving himself to 4-1 under the ONE Championship banner and a 75% finish rate.
21-year-old fan favorite Rambolek earned his second-straight win in the ring and his fourth overall in ONE with a unanimous decision victory over Craig Coakley in a catchweight Muay Thai clash.
Keito Yamakita continued his climb up the strawweight MMA rankings with a hard-fought split decision victory over Yosuke Saruta. It was the third win for 'Pocket Monk' in ONE Championship and his 10th overall.
In a battle of top-five ranked flyweight kickboxing contenders, Elias Mahmoudi came out firing on all cylinders against Taiki Naito, landing a big spinning back fist that sat his opponent down in the opening round. Naito climbed back to his feet and back into the fight, but his fate was sealed in third when Mahmoudi landed another nasty back fist that put ‘Silent Sniper’ down for the final time.
