ONE Fight Night 24 results: Danielle Kelly vs. Mayssa Bastos
The first world title defense of ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion Danielle Kelly happened on Saturday morning at ONE Fight Night 24, as she welcomed the challenge of nine-time IBJFF champion Mayssa Bastos.
Kelly and Bastos delighted the fans with their back-and-forth action inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where they exchanged top-level submission attempts.

10-minute fight: Bastos dropped down and attempted to grab Kelly's leg but came up short. Kelly smacks Bastos and looks aggressive in the opening phase of the bout. Bastos pulls Kelly's leg and tries to take the back but defends well. The Brazilian eventually secures a half-guard position from her back in less than two minutes into the match.
Kelly pulled out of the position and continued to defend the leg locks that Bastos was attempting. A major scramble happened at the 6:45 mark. Kelly continues to look for submission attempts from the top, but no major threats. Kelly stepped through the legs of Bastos and threatened the first major submission attempt in the match with a heel hook in the second half of the bout.
The defending world champion fended off another leg lock submission of Bastos, but the challenger continued to maneuver her way into a possible leg lock submission. Bastos caught Kelly with another leg lock attempt at the 1:25 mark of the match to even the scorecard.
With less than a minute to go, both athletes became more aggressive in the match in hopes of forcing a tap out of each other with leg lock attacks, but in the end, the judges' scorecards were needed to determine the winner.

A new ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion was crowned in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 on Saturday morning inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, as Bastos scored a unanimous decision win over Danielle Kelly to end her reign in the weight class.
The nine-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion showed more aggression throughout the 10-minute fight, using several leg lock attacks. It was her second victory under the world's largest martial arts organization since her debut, and the $50,000 bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the win even sweeter for Bastos.
