ONE Fight Night 25 results and recap: John Lineker vs. Alexey Balyko
A month removed from his impressive debut in the art of eight limbs at ONE 168: Denver, former ONE world champion John Lineker returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok ready to throw hands with dangerous Russian knockout artist Alexey Balyko at ONE Fight Night 25 on Prime Video.
Round 1: Lineker puts the pressure on early and uncorks a big right hand right out of the gate. Lineker tries to attack the body, and Balyko counters with a head kick. Lineker closes in and throws a barrage of strikes. Balyko attempts to respond with some knees up the middle. With 90 seconds to go in the round, Lineker steps in and lands a big left hook that drops Balyko.
Balyko answers the count but eats the mat moments later with back-to-back left hooks. Balyko is back to his feet with 60 seconds left. Lineker traps Balyko in the corner and lets his hands go, landing a vicious left that sends the Russian crashing to the canvas for the third and final time in round one.
