ONE Friday Fights 69 full results and recap: Nabil Anane starches Kulabdam in devastating fashion
With one perfectly placed knee, 20-year-old Nabil Anane changed his life in the ONE Friday Fights 69 headliner at Lumpinee Stadium.
Anane got things started early by using his reach, pumping the jab, and punishing Kulabdam’s legs with some stiff low kicks. However, it didn’t take long for Kulabdam to find his way inside overwhelming the up-and-coming Muay Thai sensation against the ropes with some solid striking and a few sneaky elbows.
With seconds left to go in the opening round, Anane turned the tables, pinning Kulabdam near the corner and landing a pair of nasty knees accompanied by some slicing elbows over the top.
Coming out for round two, the 6-foot-4 Anane picked up right where he left off, using his height advantage to clinch up against the ropes and punish Kulabdam’s body. Still, that didn’t stop Kulabdam from pushing the pace, desperately looking to close the distance and land his ‘Left Meteorite.’
With a minute to go in the round, Kulabdam hit the mat hard after Anane connected with a big knee against the ropes. The Thai answered the count, prompting Anane to really pour it on. As the 10-second warning sounded, Anane put away Kulabdam with another perfectly placed knee that rendered Kulabdam unconscious, bringing an end to the clash.
Following the fight, it was revealed that Anane received both a performance bonus from ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong as well as a $100,000 contract to join ONE Championship's main roster.
