ONE Friday Fights 74 full results and recap: Parham Gheirati goes 5-0 with striking masterclass vs Yodphupa
Parham Gheirati dished out another trademark performance to stay perfect on the global stage in the ONE Friday Fights 74 main event on August 9.
The Petsaman representative took charge of the contest from the first sound of the bell. As the clock ticked towards the end of his three-round scrap, there was no doubt he'd walk away with his hand raised against Yodphupa Petkiatpet inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Gheirati got things underway with powerful teeps down the pipe that forced his Thai counterpart to retaliate inside the Mecca of Muay Thai. When the latter took the bait, he was still at the mercy of the 20-year-old's strikes, this time coming from his educated hands in four-ounce gloves.
Oozing confidence every time he stepped into enemy territory, the ONE Friday Fights superstar soon floored his opposite number with a left hook right on the money. Yodphupa survived the eight-count but continued to trail behind as the second stanza unfolded on the latest edition of ONE Friday Fights.
The Iranian worked his way into range, instantly shutting down the Petkiatpet athlete's flurry of punches. From distance, inside the pocket, or in the clinch, the young phenom was firing on all cylinders with his elbows, punches, knees, and kicks.
Despite taking a huge lead into the final round, Gheirati never slowed down one bit. And he was aptly rewarded for his appetite for destruction with a second knockdown off a barrage of knees.
Yodphupa never seemed to be able to pull himself back into the contest from that moment on.
On the opposite end, the Iranian striking dynamo continued to land everything with inch-perfect precision before he earned a clear-cut unanimous decision from all three judges at ringside. With the win, Gheirati moved to 14-5 in his career and 5-0 at ONE Friday Fights.
