Thai striking sensation Kompet Fairtex secured his fifth consecutive triumph on the global stage with another trademark display in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 75 this week.
Though Omar El Halabi did force him to put in the necessary work to ensure he got his hands raised again inside the revered Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the Fairtex Training Center athlete never once looked like he was in trouble against his Lebanese counterpart.
Kompet drilled in leg kicks to kick things off in their 127-pound catchweight Muay Thai tilt, further establishing a lead with his cracking right hooks that drew instant concern from his foe. Despite landing for fun, 'Ironside' responded with jabs and punches to reduce the deficit in their ONE Friday Fights showdown.
Knowing he needed to shift a gear up, the Pattaya-based fighter cranked up his output in the second round. Kicks, punches, knees, and elbows were thrown at a furious pace in the direction of the 26-year-old, who sat back and attempted to find a plan out of the Thai's strikes.
Despite his best efforts, nothing seemed to have been able to slow down Kompet as he enjoyed another solid three minutes. Eventually, his output and relentless aggression massively helped him reel a fifth straight triumph victory on the latest installment of ONE Friday Fights.
In addition, the action-packed card saw Nuapet Tded99 open his promotional account with a late highlight-reel stoppage of Petphupa Aekpujean. Meanwhile, fellow "Art of Eight Limbs" stars Petnakian Phuyaiyunan and Mamuka Usubyan stayed perfect inside the Mecca of Muay Thai with statement finishes of their own.
