ONE Friday Fights 80 results and recap: Yodnumchai Outclasses Rak To Move 6-0 in ONE Friday Fights
Yodnumchai Fairtex continued his impressive run on the global stage in the ONE Friday Fights 80 main event on September 20.
It was business as usual for the Fairtex Training Center athlete as he racked up his sixth consecutive win in the organization against Rak Erawan in their three-round atomweight Muay Thai duel inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Pattaya-based striker tested the waters early, throwing leather with accuracy and power that instantly drew a reaction from the Erawan standout. But just as his confidence gained momentum, the Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai world champion reminded him that he was still very much in the fight.
Rak unloaded with uppercuts and straights, tagging his foe every time he got to sneak a couple in on the counter. The match continued at the same pace inside the Mecca of Muay Thai in round two.
Yodnumchai, 20, came out on top in most exchanges. But whenever he stepped into the pocket, the 23-year-old made sure he tasted leather on the exit. With a win looking possible for both stars as the third and final canto of their ONE Friday Fights clash unfolded, they lit up the ring with a back-and-forth striking clinic.
As in the earlier rounds, though, Yodnumchai's accuracy and crisp combinations helped him unsettle his opposite number on his way to his sixth straight ONE Friday Fights win to push his overall slate to a 66-20.
