"One of them ones" - Fans still marvel at Jonathan Haggerty's historic world title win over Thai legend Nong-O

ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty posted the most monumental victory of his career on April 22, 2023, and fans still cannot get enough of it more than two years later. On that date, he challenged Thai legend Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.

Riding the momentum of a three-fight winning streak, 'The General' was emboldened by the chance at ending Nong-O's four-year reign as the inaugural king of the division. Haggerty did just that courtesy of a knockout with 20 seconds to spare in the opening round.

ONE posted an Instagram video of the Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground product reflecting on that performance in an interview with now-retired MMA legend and former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Demetrious Johnson.

Jonathan Haggerty grateful for opportunities he has received from ONE Championship

Jonathan Haggerty gladly acknowledged how instrumental ONE Championship is in turning him from a top-rated prospect to a globally recognized household name in the striking arts.

The former ONE flyweight and bantamweight Muay Thai world champion said in an interview with Inside Fighting:

"They're amazing. All they need is that stepping stone to get to the global stage, and then they're superstars. And that's what ONE Championship is very good at making unknown fighters, which I was back then, and become stars to pursue their dreams."
