"Only the gods will decide" - Triple champ Anatoly Malykhin predicts the outcome of Jonathan Haggerty vs Superlek at ONE 168
Triple-world champion Anatoly Malykhin has shared his prediction for the hotly anticipated Muay Thai world title war between 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty and 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.
As Sept. 6 slowly approaches, all athletes and fans alike are dying to find out which bantamweight Muay Thai warrior is superior to all the rest. Malykhin, who's been in their position before, knows how grueling a fight camp can be prior to the big payoff.
However, only one thing is for certain: there's only room for one world champion on that particular Friday night in Denver.
Discussing his predictions with ONE Championship, Malykhin said:
"Who will win? Only the gods will decide that day. Is a knockout guaranteed? I think this fight will go the distance."
Perhaps for the first time ever, defending world title holder Jonathan Haggerty will be the fan favorite coming into America. The British standout is going into battle with great momentum after defeating fellow world-class strikers, Felipe Lobo, Nong-O Hama, and Fabricio Andrade, in knockout fashion.
Conversely, Superlek Kiatmoo9 is at the top of his game as the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion. He's got career-defining victories on his resume, including a decision against Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Japan's kickboxing superstar Takeru Segawa in that order.

"Focusing on conditioning and perfecting our boxing" - Three-sport king Anatoly Malykhin enters the first week of training camp in a state of extreme focus
Three-sport world champion Anatoly Malykhin is also en route to another historic event at ONE 169: Atlanta this November.
Like his fellow world champions above, Malykhin is on a different level of concentration as he prepares for his ONE heavyweight world title superfight against Senegalese juggernaut 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane.
The Russian superstar has an undefeated MMA record of 13-0 and boasts a 100% percent finishing rate across three world-class divisions.
However, it would be eight months this November since Malykhin last fought on the global stage. That's why it's so important for him to start his camp early so that he's in the best shape possible before clashing with 'Reug Reug' in America.
Coach and trainer John Hutchinson posted the "three-belt champion" at work on Instagram this week, with the caption that read:
"First week in camp for November's MMA heavyweight world title defense in America. @anmalykhin is focusing on conditioning and perfecting our boxing."
