"Only tools he has built are twitter fingers" - Jake Paul jibes at Conor McGregor for claiming he has the tools to beat Islam Makhachev, claims the Russian would "Khabib him" in one round if they fight

Conor McGregor recently claimed to have "all the tools" to beat Islam Makhachev in the immediate aftermath of the latter's UFC 280 lightweight title win. Jake Paul has now taken a dig at the Irishman for his comments.

According to Paul, the only "tools" McGregor has developed over the years are his "twitter fingers." 'The Probem Child' believes that should a bout between the Irishman and Makhachev materialise, the Dagestani will dominate 'Notorious' like his predecessor Khabib Nurmagomedov, that too within a round.

The 25-year-old wrote on Twitter:

"Only tools he has built are twitter fingers. Islam would Khabib him in one round. Hence why he deleted his tweets."

Makhachev took the lightweight strap back to Dagestan with a second-round submission win over Charles Oliveira in the main-event at UFC 280. Immediately afterwards, McGregor claimed that he has now developed the tools to deal with the Dagestani style of fighting (referring to his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov). 'Notorious,' wrote in the now-deleted tweet:

"Nice fight. nice performance. I have built all the tools to beat this style now Vs b4. Experience Vs . Face breaking shots from clinch and baby brain batter shots from bottom. And the rest of my repertoire yous know. Steel left leg. Cannon back hand. Wrist control."
"The thought of shutting down this system of fighting with my own developed system is quite intriguing to me. Whoever of them against. It’s not personal. It’s a skill evaluation and a fight. Even thru generations. The imaafs, amateurs. A war of attrition. To the box."

Islam Makhachev keeps his promise to not callout Conor McGregor

Despite being on the sidelines for over a year, Conor McGregor seemingly has no dearth of high-caliber opponents calling him out. Former lightweight champ Charles Oliveira never shied away from plotting a money-fight against the Irishman.

However, Conor McGregor is now unlikely to jump the title queue with Islam Makhachev on the throne. Ahead of his UFC 280 clash against 'do Bronx', Makhachev promised not to call out the Irishman if he won.

The 31-year-old said in a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast:

"Every fighter try to call him after... I'm not gonna call him after the fight because I want to fight with real fighters who deserve the title shot. Gamrot, Beneil, other guys."

In his UFC 280 post-fight interview, Makhachev and his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov proceeded to callout pound-for-pound great Alexander Volkanovski for a super fight in the main event of UFC 284.

Considering the fact the UFC is returning to Australia for this event, one can only imagine the magnitude of this potential showdown with Volkanovski getting the opportunity to compete in front of his home crowd.
