Oscar De La Hoya reacts to "arrogant" Canelo Alvarez's clash with his excellency Turki Alalshikh: "I'm not the only one"
Oscar De La Hoya has criticized Canelo Alvarez for his clash with his excellency Turki Alalshikh. 'The Golden Boy' believes the 34-year-old is pricing himself out of potential fights against Terence Crawford and David Benavidez.
Earlier this week, Alalshikh took to X to outline his plans for boxing bouts that will headline future cards in Saudi Arabia. Amongst his tweet, the 43-year-old notably stated that he is no longer interested in booking Crawford vs. Alvarez, following claims that 'Canelo' was looking for a minimum of $200 million to accept the fight.
"I decided to disregard the Canelo fight, as I don't want it anymore."

Following his excellency's post, La Hoya opted to share his thoughts on the situation with a video on his social media.
The boxing promoter, who famously used to represent Canelo Alvarez before their highly publicized split, put the super middleweight champion on blast. La Hoya labeled Alvarez as "arrogant" as well as stating that Alalshikh isn't the only promoter who has had issues with Alvarez. He said:
"Turns out I'm not the only one that thinks Canelo [Alvarez] is an arrogant piece of sh*t. Turki Alalshikh recently revealed that Canelo refused to meet with him in person and isn't entertaining any deals to be done with him. Why? Because he's outpriced himself so much that the Saudi's don't want to deal with him...Canelo continues to take the fights that nobody wants to see."

Canelo Alvarez reveals reason behind asking for nine-figure sum to face David Benavidez
Canelo Alvarez believes that he is more than deserving of a huge fight purse, should he agree to fight David Benavidez.
According to the former undisputed super middleweight champ, a potential bout against Benavidez wouldn't offer him the same financial incentive than if he opted to pick a different opponent. He instead believes that asking for a flat out huge sum would minimize any risk, should the fight not sell well.
Speaking to the media at a press event back in May, Alvarez said:
“He brings nothing to the table for me. He just brings 25 [million] more on the fight that night, and that’s it. He’s nothing to offer me money. I’m the one. If a promoter comes to me and offers me 150 or 200 million, I fight tomorrow. That’s the reason I fight with him because the only thing he brings to the table is 25 [million] more..."
